    El carácter de las inscripciones sobre huesos oraculares aún no ha sido descifrado y sigue en disputa debido principalmente a dos problemas: i) su significado, y ii) la ubicación del Estado que tenía ese nombre. Este artículo presenta ideas nuevas sobre el tema, con base en los resultados y las opiniones de investigadores anteriores, para ayudar a comprender mejor los textos inscritos que incluyen este carácter, la evolución histórica de los caracteres afines, y la relación geográfica entre determinados eventos históricos y las relaciones entre la dinastía Shang y los estados vecinos.

    The character in the oracle bone script is one that has yet to be deciphered and remains in dispute because of two main problems: i) it’s meaning, and ii) the location of the state that had this name. This article presents new ideas on the topic, based on the results and opinions of previous researchers, to help us better understand the scripts that contain this character, the historical evolution of related characters, and the geographical relationship in some historical events and the relationships between the Shang dynasty and neighboring states.
