  • Academic performance is not only based on academic factors, but involves a series of variables specific to the student, taking into account socioeconomic, personal, study, institutional and academic factors. Therefore, the objective of the study is to know the determinants associated with the academic performance of students that influence directly in their university life and successful completion of the career. In the present study, a virtual survey was distributed to university students of UNIANDES, Ambato, obtaining 222 responses. The results obtained revealed a close relationship between different personal and academic factors in the student's life, which can encourage or limit academic performance, and have a variable impact on the results considered successful for the career. For this reason, it Is recommended the implementation of a study plan that covers all the factors that influence university life and that can affect academic performance.
