The present research work highlights that the acute periapical abscess is a painful infectious complication that is located in the root of a tooth. Appropriate treatment includes draining the abscess, performing a root canal treatment and, in certain cases, prescribing antibiotics. However, caution should be exercised when administering medications to patients with hypertension and diabetes, as some substances may interact or have adverse effects on these medical conditions. On the other hand, endodontic pharmacology plays a crucial role in controlling inflammation, pain and infections during treatment. Various medications such as non-opioid analgesics, NSAIDs, local anesthetics, antibiotics and others are used, depending on the specific needs of each patient.Accordingly, proper management of pain and anxiety in dental procedures is paramount for patients with hypertension and diabetes, as stress can influence their blood pressure and blood glucose levels. For this reason, it is recommended to use distraction, relaxation and conscious sedation techniques in order to improve the patient's experience during treatment.Based on this, it is possible to mention that the proper choice of medications, careful management of pain and anxiety, as well as adequate patient follow-up are crucial aspects to improve oral health and the general well-being of patients with hypertension and diabetes
