The tunneling technique is a minimally invasive surgery used to achieve esthetic root coverage in patients with Miller Class I and II gingival recessions, both in isolated and multiple cases. These recessions have diverse causes, such as anatomical disorders, occlusal problems, traumas, and parafunctional habits. The objective of this article was to demonstrate the effectiveness of the tunneling technique through a literature review and a clinical case presentation. The results obtained were satisfactory and predictable in terms of aesthetics, allowing an increase in the amount of keratinized mucosa and coverage of the exposed roots. In summary, the tunneling technique proves to be an excellent option to restore smile harmony and address gingival recession issues in esthetic areas
