Introduction: Society demands that higher education institutions prepare highly qualified, competent and committed professionals. Objective: As a result, the study examined the acquisition of practical skills and competencies, both in theory and in their application in real-world settings. Methods: Questionnaires were administered to students in health sciences programs who were undertaking their pre-professional internships (PPP). Results: Through the analysis of results from supervised learning (AI), significant data was obtained showing that the relationship between theory and practice, through didactic tools (ICT) and appropriate environments, strengthens the PPP. It was also observed that the most satisfied age group was between 22 and 32 years old. Conclusions: it can be asserted that the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), along with simulation spaces and other resources, will enhance the training of health professionals.
