  • Resumen
    • Airway obstruction in children is an important cause of infant mortality; The most common origin is with the ingestion of nuts (60 % to 80 %), followed less frequently by others such as food remains, toys, metal objects (coins), balloons. The symptoms will depend on the point in the airway where said object is located: larynx, trachea or bronchi, with the right main bronchus being the most common. Therefore, it is necessary for the population to know how to prevent suffocation, the signs and symptoms derived from aspiration of an object, and the maneuvers that should be performed
