    Este artículo está dedicado a Pablo Ruiz Picasso, uno de los máximos exponentes del arte del siglo XX y el que marcó la ruptura con la pintura tradicional. A lo largo de su vida tuvo una gran pasión por los museos y algunos de ellos, como el Museo del Prado y el Museo del Louvre, le sirvieron de inspiración para sus obras. Al mismo tiempo, contribuyó con sus donaciones y regalos a que, tras su muerte, se tejiera una red de museos y casas-museo en Europa a los que también se sumaron sus herederos, amigos y coleccionistas. En estas páginas, analizamos brevemente cuál ha sido su contribución más importante dentro de la corriente vanguardista del cubismo, cómo fue su vida y cómo sus acontecimientos personales marcaron sus etapas artísticas. Por último, esbozamos un recorrido por las instituciones museísticas que llevan su nombre, tanto en España como fuera de nuestras fronteras.

    This paper is dedicated to Pablo Ruiz Picasso, one of the greatest exponents of 20th century art and the one who marked the break away from traditional painting. Throughout his life, he had a great passion for museums and some of them, such as the Prado Museum and the Louvre Museum, served as inspiration for his works. At the same time, he contributed with his donations and gifts to the creation, after his death, of a network of museums and housemuseums in Europe to which his heirs, friends and collectors also joined. In these pages, we briefly analyze what his most important contribution has been within the avant-garde movement of Cubism, what his life was like and how his personal events marked his artistic stages. Finally, we outline a tour of the museum institutions that bear his name, both in Spain and outside our borders.
