    Desde mediados del siglo XVI se venera la imagen de Nuestra Señora del Amparo en la parroquia de Santa María Magdalena de Sevilla. En 1736 es fundada por el clero parroquial una Hermandad de Gloria para gestionar el culto ya tributado por los feligreses a esta imagen. Se estudia el devenir histórico y devocional de la Virgen del Amparo, considerada Patrona de su Feligresía, y de su hermandad, hoy uno de los principales referentes entre las hermandades letíficas de la ciudad.

    Since the middle of the 16th century, the image of Our Lady of Amparo has been venerated in the Parish of Santa María Magdalena in Seville. In 1736, a Brother hood of Glory was founded by the parish clergy to manage the cult already paid by the parishioners to this image. The historical and devotional development of the Virgin of Amparo, considered Patron of her Parish, and of her Brotherhood, today one of the main references among the lethific brotherhoods of the city, is studied.
