    Casi veinticinco años después de la primera edición de su novela Este domingo –que data de 1966–, José Donoso, en estrecha colaboración con el narrador y dramaturgo Carlos Cerda, reescribe la historia ahí representada para proponer una versión teatral de la misma, estrenada y puesta en escena por el Teatro ICTUS en Santiago el 12 de junio de 1990. En este artículo hubiese querido comentar y analizar los principales cambios discursivos operados en este proceso, así como el alcance y los sentidos de esta particular transformación genérica, pero ‒por cuestiones de tiempo y espacio‒ me limitaré tan solo a algunas observaciones generales sobre este ejercicio de reescritura y a exponer algunos casos que me parecieron representativos.

    Almost twenty-five years after the first edition of his novel Este domingo –which dates back to 1966–, José Donoso, in close collaboration with the narrator and playwright Carlos Cerda, rewrites the story represented there to propose a theatrical version of it, premiered and staged by the ICTUS Theater in Santiago on June 12, 1990. In this article I would have liked to comment and analyze the main discursive changes carried out in this process, as well as the scope and meaning of this particular generic transformation, but ‒for reasons of time and space‒ I will limit myself only to some general observations about this rewriting exercise and to present some cases that seemed representative to me.
