Resumen de Conocimientos, prácticas y actitudes en la prevención de VIH-SIDA, en estudiantes de bachillerato del cantón Guamote, en el período: septiembre 2017 - abril 2018

  Introducción: La necesidad de realizar esta investigación fue porque el VIH/SIDA es un problema de salud mundial y Ecuador está formando parte de este serio problema; para afrontarlo hay que conocer su dimensión social, económica y cultural, porque según reportes más de dos millones de jóvenes de entre 10 y 19 años estaban infectados por el VIH.

  Objetivos: Conocer las prácticas y actitudes en la prevención de VIH/SIDA, en estudiantes de bachillerato del cantón Guamote, en el período: septiembre 2017 - abril 2018.

  Pacientes y métodos: Estudio cualitativo, mediante encuesta se registraron 127 estudiantes de bachillerato, entre septiembre 2017 y abril 2018.

  Resultados: El nivel de conocimiento que los adolescentes tenían sobre el VIH/SIDA, fue pésimo (80.3 %), regular (15 %) y bueno (4.7 %).

  Conclusiones: Los conocimientos sobre este virus y su infección fueron muy pobres, que precisaron de intervenciones informativas para la prevención de VIH/sida.

  Introduction: The need to carry out this research was because HIV/AIDS is a global health problem and Ecuador is part of this serious problem; to confront it, we must know its social, economic and cultural dimension, because according to reports, more than two million young people between 10 and 19 years old were infected with HIV.

  Objectives: To know the practices and attitudes in the prevention of HIV/AIDS, in high school students of the Guamote canton, in the period: September 2017 - April 2018.

  Patients and methods: Qualitative study, 127 high school students were registered through a survey between September 2017 and April 2018.

  Results: The level of knowledge that adolescents had about HIV/AIDS was terrible (80.3%), average (15%) and good (4.7%).

  Conclusions: Knowledge about this virus and its infection was very poor, requiring informative interventions for the prevention of HIV/AIDS.
