  La inteligencia artificial cómo método de apoyo académico para estudiantes Universitarios, responde al uso excesivo que dan los alumnos a diversas herramientas automatizadas que se han venido desarrollando a través del tiempo y van tomado mayor fuerza cómo ChatGPT. Esta herramienta ha revolucionado la manera en que los alumnos de educación superior abordan su aprendizaje y desarrollo académico ya que obtienen pautas y guías de diversas áreas de conocimiento complementando la eficiencia y la efectividad del proceso educativo. Además, al estudiar la siguiente temática se pretende caracterizar las condiciones educativas, los retos sociales y el papel que tiene la IA en la educación universitaria. Por lo tanto, el estudio es de carácter cualitativo, los datos se recolectan mediante una entrevista estructurada realizada en Google Forms, la cual sirvió para que la información tenga un grado elevado de veracidad, dando como resultado una discusión sobre la aplicación correcta de la plataforma. Las conclusiones indican que, el uso de ChatGPT tiende a ser nocivo si no hay una orientación previa. Los estudiantes de la facultad de Educación de la Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo de la ciudad de Riobamba, Ecuador, establecen que la utilización excesiva puede causar una falta de rigurosidad académica, por lo que debe complementarse con fuentes tradicionales y supervisión de educadores.

  Artificial intelligence as a method of academic support for university students, responds to the excessive use that students give to various automated tools that have been developed over time and are gaining greater strength such as ChatGPT. This tool has revolutionized the way in which higher education students approach their learning and academic development since they obtain guidelines and guides from various areas of knowledge, complementing the efficiency and effectiveness of the educational process. In addition, by studying the following topic, it is intended to characterize educational conditions, social challenges and the role that AI has in university education. Therefore, the study is qualitative, the data is collected through a structured interview carried out in Google Forms, which served to ensure that the information has a high degree of veracity, resulting in a discussion on the correct application of the platform. The conclusions indicate that the use of ChatGPT tends to be harmful if there is no prior guidance. The students from the Faculty of Education of the National University of Chimborazo in the city of Riobamba, Ecuador, establish that excessive use can cause a lack of academic rigor, so it should be complemented with traditional sources and supervision by educators.
