    El presente trabajo analiza el desarrollo del tema de la lactancia materna en la leyenda genealógica de Godofredo de Bouillon contenida en la Gran conquista de Ultramar, buscando poner de relieve el modo en que se conjugan historia, leyenda y ficción en la conformación del relato cronístico. Para complementar el análisis narrativo, se consideran la vinculación que se establece entre crianza y linaje, algunas de las connotaciones de la lactancia en la cultura del período y la relación entre el texto castellano y sus fuentes, en particular los poemas franceses de los que provienen los episodios analizados.

    This paper analyzes the theme of maternal breastfeeding in the genealogical legend of Godfrey of Bouillon within the Gran Conquista de Ultramar, with the purpose of examining the way in which history, legend and fiction are combined in the formation of the chronistic story. To complement the narrative analysis, several related aspects are taken into consideration: the association between breast milk and lineage, some of the connotations that breastfeeding has in the culture of the period and the relationship between the Castilian text and its sources, particularly the French poems from which the analyzed episodes come from.
