    Tomando como punto de partida el relato del asesinato del conde Lope Díaz III de Haro ocurrido en 1288 por orden de Sancho IV de Castilla, el trabajo pretende indagar en las diferentes lecturas que el hecho asume en las versiones cronísticas de la Crónica de tres reyes y de la Historia hasta 1288 dialogada, así como en la versión “mixta” que transmite el manuscrito escurialense M-II-2. Al mismo tiempo, se relaciona el pasaje con otras narraciones histórico-legendarias, junto con las cuales resulta factible ubicarlo dentro del tópico de “prendimiento de un grande”. De esta manera se busca brindar un breve panorama de las tensiones que entran en juego en el tratamiento discursivo de un acontecimiento donde se ponen en entredicho las atribuciones de la nobleza y de la realeza.

    Taking as a starting point the story of the assassination of Count Lope Díaz III of Haro, which took place in 1288 by order of Sancho IV of Castile, the paper aims to investigate the different readings that the event assumes in the chronistic versions of the Crónica de tres reyes and of the *Historia hasta 1288 dialogada, as well as in the "mixed" version transmitted by the manuscript Escorial M-II-2. At the same time, the passage is related to other historical-legendary narratives, together with which it is feasible to place it within the topic of the "seizure of a great one". In this way, we seek to provide a brief overview of the tensions that come into play in the discursive treatment of an event where the attributions of nobility and royalty are called into question.
