Este artículo de investigación, fundamentado en fuentes hemerográficas, el cual parte desde un enfoque histórico-social, se centra en el análisis sociopolítico del ciclismo en Castilla, entendiendo esta como el conjunto regional de Castilla la Vieja y Castilla la Nueva. El asentamiento de los new sports, cuya socialización inauguraría el ciclismo, se dio con criterios diferenciales en cada territorio de la España de la Restauración y de la Segunda República. Castilla, dada su industrialización tardía, tuvo un proceso propio, que describió un eje de desarrollo interior-exterior, una génesis transversal en lo ideológico y un desarrollo dual altamente diferenciado. Sería en ese contexto, donde surgiría el objetivo principal de esta investigación, la Vuelta Ciclista a Castilla (1934), la cual trazaría con su recorrido una unidad castellana que evocaba el Pacto Federal Castellano de 1869.

This research article, based on newspaper sources and starting from a historical-social perspective, focuses on the socio-political analysis of cycling in Castile, understood as the region comprising Old Castile and New Castile. The introduction of new sports, which paved the way for cycling, occurred under different criteria in each territory of Spain during the Restoration and the Second Republic. Castile, given its late industrialisation, followed its own path, describing an axis of interior-exterior development, a transversal genesis in terms of ideology, and a highly differentiated dual evolution. It was in this context that the main objective of this research, the Vuelta Ciclista a Castilla (1934), emerged, tracing with its route a Castilian unity that evoked the Castilian Federal Pact of 1869.
