    En la Corona de Aragón el destino de los bienes y patrimonio de la orden del Temple fue diferente según reinos. En el caso del reino de Valencia estos pasaron a manos de una nueva orden militar, la de Santa María de Montesa, fundada en 1317 tras largas negociaciones entre el rey Jaime II y el papado. Su archivo, o parte de él, entre 1233 y 1307, fue traspasado a la nueva Orden. Actualmente está repartido entre el Archivo Histórico Nacional de Madrid y el Archivo del Reino de Valencia y lo constituyen pergaminos (reales, ecle-siásticos y particulares), documentos en papel y algún códice. También hay alguna documentación dispersa en el Archivo de la Corona de Aragón, en Barcelona. Su contenido es muy diverso, pero se centra en docu-mentos sobre la propiedad de pueblos y señoríos, derechos señoriales y repoblación del siglo XIII. También hay pleitos con los otros poderes feudales, además de otros textos referentes a vasallos y personas alrede-dor de la orden del Temple.

    In the Crown of Aragon, the fate of the assets and heritage of the Order of the Temple varied by kingdom. In the case of the Kingdom of Valencia, these were transferred to a new military order, the Order of Santa María de Montesa, founded in 1317 after lengthy negotiations between King James II and the papacy. Its archive, or part of it, from the years 1233 to 1307, was transferred to the new Order. Currently, this archive is divided between the National Historical Archive in Madrid and the Archive of the Kingdom of Valencia and includes parchments (royal, ecclesiastical, and private), paper documents, and some codices. There is also some scattered documentation in the Archive of the Crown of Aragon in Barcelona. The content is diverse but primarily focuses on documents regarding the ownership of towns and lordships, seigneurial rights, and 13th-century repopulation. There are also disputes with other feudal powers, along with other texts concerning vassals and people associated with the Order of the Temple.
