El estudio del legado documental del Temple en Navarra, en su mayor parte inédito, plantea problemáticas diversas para reconstruir e interpretar la lógica interna y la intertextualidad de los textos. Este artículo propone una revisión y análisis crítico de estos últimos, poniendo el foco en las razones de su gestación y en el valor de su uso y difusión por parte de la Orden. Asimismo, y más allá de la materialidad manuscrita y tipologías formales, se presentarán los diferentes estratos que influyeron en su producción: actores, contextos e intencionalidad. Con ello se podrá conocer algo mejor el sistema de representación articulado por los templarios, no solo para consolidar su desarrollo patrimonial, sino también para conformar y proyectar su imagen institucional.

The study of the Templar documentary legacy in Navarra, largely unpublished, raises various challenges for reconstructing and interpreting the texts’ internal logic and intertextuality. This article offers a critical review and analysis of these documents, focusing on the reasons for their creation and the significance of their use and dissemination by the Order. Furthermore, beyond the materiality of manuscripts and formal typologies, the different layers influencing their production —actors, contexts, and intentionality— will be examined. Through this, we gain deeper insight into the representational system crafted by the Templars, aimed not only at consolidating their patrimonial development but also at shaping and projecting their institutional image.
