La teología de la historia de Gaston Fessard S.J. y su recepción en el México actual (I): Los fundamentos de su sistema

    Gaston Fessard, jesuita francés, introdujo en su país, junto con Alexander Ko-jève y Jean Hyppolite, el pensamiento filosófico de Hegel. Entre 1936 y 1946, primero ante la amenaza nazi, y posteriormente tras la ocupación alemana de Francia, publicó diversos textos de resistencia respondiendo las preguntas existenciales que se hacían sus compatriotas acerca de “¿qué hacer?”, “¿qué sentido tiene lo vivido?” y “¿qué sentido tiene la historia?” Con ello puso las bases de una filosofía de la historia y de una teología de la historia construidas sobre las dialécticas Varón/Mujer (orden histórico de lo natural), Señor/Siervo (orden histórico de lo humano) y Pagano/Judío (orden histórico de lo sobrenatural), todas ellas superadas en Cristo, Señor de la historia (Gal 3,28). Este primer artículo presenta los fundamentos de su sistema, y lo seguirá un segundo en el que aplicaremos su método de análisis filosófico-teológico a la realidad actual de México.

    Together with Alexander Kojève and Jean Hyppolite, Gaston Fessard, a French Jesuit, introduced the philosophical thought of Hegel into his country. Between 1936 and 1946, first in the face of the growing Nazi threat, and then after the German occupation of France, Fessard published a variety of resistance texts responding to existential questions that his compatriots were posing to him, such as “what should we do?”; “what is the meaning of what we are living through?”; and “what meaning is there in history?” This is what set the grounds for a philosophy of history and a theology of history constructed on the basis of a series of dialectics Man/Woman (the historical order in regard to nature), Lord/Servant (the historical order with regard to the human), and Pagan/Jew (the historical order with regard to the supernatural), all of which are overcome in Christ, the Lord of history (Gal 3,28). This first of two articles presents the foundations of his system, which will be followed by a second in which we will apply his method of philosophical-theological analysis to today’s reality in Mexico
