Resumen de El Principado de Asturias y la Armada Invencible

En este artículo se analiza el episodio de la Armada Invencible, acontecimiento fundamental de la historia de Europa, en una doble dimensión: l ª La participación (en forma de suministros, humana y económica) del Principado de Asturias y, muy especialmente, de la ciudad de Oviedo en dicha empresa.
2ª Las consecuencias derivadas de la derrota de la Armada para la región asturiana y la Cornisa Cantábrica en general. Se realiza también, simultáneamente, un estudio de los mecanismos municipales de reclutamiento característicos de los años finales del siglo XVI.

In this article it is analysed the episode of the Spanish Armada, a fundamental event of the European history, in a double dimension: - First, the participation in this enterprise of the Principado de Asturias and, especially, of the city of Oviedo by means of food, human and economic supplies.
- Second, the derived consequences of the Armada's defeat for the Asturian region and the Cornisa Cantabrica in general. Simultaneously, it is also studied the characteristic mechanisms of municipal recruitment in the last years of the sixteenth century
