Resumen de Technology Readiness Level Y Design thinking: Una revisión de casos desde un semillero de investigación

  El presente documento centra en el análisis de las diferentes innovaciones tecnológicas o desarrollo de productos, observados como fracasos al fallar en alguna de las distintas etapas del Technology Readiness Level (TRL), siendo presentados como mini casos de estudio, sistematización realizada desde un semillero de investigación, y que es interesante puesto que usualmente se documentan profusamente los casos de éxito y no los fracasos. En el documento se revisa la literatura tanto relacionada con los TRL, y sus diversos ejes de análisis, así como el Design Thinking una herramienta tanto como para acortar el tiempo en el avance de los TRL como para mejorar las expectativas de éxito en el desarrollo de tecnologías y productos. El objetivo de la investigación es examinar varios ejemplos de productos que, pese a tener lanzamientos exitosos, no se mantuvieron en el mercado. Este estudio busca detectar errores, aprender de estos y proponer medidas prácticas para mejorar los procesos de creación y desarrollo de nuevos productos. Como metodología se han revisado un conjunto de casos de estudios de productos reconocidos en el mercado mundial que han fracasado bien como soluciones tecnológicas o bien en su aceptación por el mercado; la revisión ha sido realizada a partir de información disponible tanto en la web como en la empresa que oferta el producto como de críticos. El análisis se realiza examinando la empresa, el producto, así como el posible fallo o error. Como resultado, se presentan los mini casos de estudio, y reflexiones sobre como el Design thinking junto con los TRL pueden mejorar el desarrollo de tecnologías y productos, desde la perspectiva del semillero es un aprendizaje no solo sobre aspectos técnicos de los TRL y el Design Thinking sino sobre el fracaso en el desarrollo de empresas y productos.

  This document focuses on the analysis of the different technological innovations or product development, observed as failures when failing in any of the different stages of the Technology Readiness Level (TRL), being presented as mini case studies, systematization carried out from a hotbed of investigation., and that is interesting since usually the success cases are deeply documented and not the failures. The document reviews the literature both related to TRLs, and its various axes of analysis, as well as Design Thinking, a tool both to shorten the time in the advancement of TRLs and to improve expectations of success in the development of technologies and products. The objective of the research is to closely examine several examples of products that, despite having successful launches, did not remain on the market. This study seeks to detect errors, learn from them and propose practical measures to improve the creation and development processes of new products. As a methodology, a set of case studies of products recognized in the world market that have failed either as technological solutions or in their acceptance by the market have been reviewed; The review has been carried out based on information available on the web from both the company that offers the product and critics. The analysis is carried out explaining the company, the product, as well as the possible failure or error. As a result, mini case studies are presented, and reflections on how Design thinking together with TRL can improve the development of technologies and products, from the perspective of the hotbed it is a learning not only about technical aspects of TRL and Design Thinking but also about failure in the development of companies and products
