Resumen de El poder como elemento sustancial en la violencia de género

  La violencia de género no es un hecho reciente en el mundo: a lo largo de la historia las mujeres han sido el blanco de abusos por parte de la sociedad. A diario podemos leer y escuchar en las noticias que al menos una mujer ha sido violentada y el hecho-más allá de causar estupor- invita a hacernos la pregunta: ¿Qué hacer para erradicar la violencia de género? Si revisamos la normativa, podríamos dar cuenta que varios son los enunciados que se han expedido con el objetivo de prevenir, sancionar y erradicar la violencia de género; aun así, estas medidas normativas a todas luces resultan insuficientes. Vale la pena preguntarnos, además, ¿el poder que ejerce el Estado como emisor de normas reguladoras de la conducta humana, asegura a las mujeres una vida libre de violencia? O ¿El poder que ejerce el Estado sirve de base para que se estigmatice a las mujeres y se las ubique de manera perpetua en condición de vulnerabilidad por su sola condición de género? El presente artículo se realizó utilizando el método analítico-descriptivo y sintético teniendo como principales fuentes de investigación la diferente literatura que sobre esta materia existe.

  Gender violence is not a recent fact in the world: throughout history women have been the target of abuse by society. Every day we can read and hear in the news that at least one woman has been raped and the fact-beyond causing astonishment- invites us to ask ourselves the question: What can we do to eradicate gender violence? If we review the regulations, we could realize that there are several statements that have been issued with the aim of preventing, punishing and eradicating gender violence; Even so, these regulatory measures are clearly insufficient. It is worth asking ourselves, also, does the power exercised by the State as issuer of norms regulating human conduct, ensure women a life free of violence? Or, does the power exercised by the State serve as a basis for stigmatizing women and perpetually placing them in a condition of vulnerability due to their gender condition alone? The methodology used for this research is documentary, through which a compilation of documents and writings that contribute to the development of this analysis was made.
