Resumen de “The evolution of transnational mafias: Europol's response to their contemporary challenges"

David Gómez González

  • Transnational mafias and organised crime networks represent a major global problem, as they are involved in a wide range of criminal activities, such as drug and human trafficking, arms smuggling, money laundering, corruption, institutional infiltration, environmental crime and cybercrime. This diversification of activities complicates efforts to combat them, as they require multi-faceted approaches and strong international coordination. Their activities can undermine security at both national and international levels and have an impact on increasing violence and destabilising individual regions and even governments. This underlines the need for coordinated responses and effective strategies to address this challenge.
