  En el ámbito carcelario, entre el interno y el centro penitenciario existe una relación de especial sujeción sin que ello suponga que el centro pueda inmiscuirse en la integridad del recluso cuando su vida peligre. Así, el centro penitenciario no podrá aplicar medios coercitivos contra la voluntad del preso pues, de lo contrario, la autonomía de la vo- luntad perdería su efectividad. Con la regulación de la Ley Orgánica de eutanasia, mediante la cual se aprueba la prestación de ayuda para morir, resurge la importancia de la autodeterminación por parte de la población reclusa, siendo significativa la coexis- tencia entre la libertad de elección al final de la vida y el deber de protección al interno por parte del cen- tro penitenciario.

  In the prison environment, between the inmate and the penitentiary center there is a relationship of special subjection without this implying that the center can interfere with the integrity of the inmate when his life is in danger.
