Resumen de La demanda turística urbana: modelos estructurales de comportamiento de los turistas de Barcelona
During recent decades the development of urban tourism has proven extraordinarily successful, to the point where it is the form of tourism that has seen the greatest growth worldwide. The city of Barcelona has become one of the foremost destinations in Europe, thanks to the ever-increasing influx of tourists and visitors, the arrival of cruise ships, visits to cultural infrastructures, attendance at sports and business events, to name but a few of the contributing factors. The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the behaviour of tourists in Barcelona through the prism of the two most important variables in determining tourist demand: tourist expenditure, and the length of the stay. The said behaviour is analysed by means of new insights relating to tourist profiles and characteristics.In terms of methodology, for the analysis of tourist behaviour structural equation models for multi-group analysis have been used En las últimas décadas el desarrollo del turismo urbano ha obtenido un extraordinario éxito, siendo este segmento uno de los de mayor crecimiento a nivel mundial. La ciudad de Barcelona se ha convertido en uno de los destinos más relevantes de Europa gracias al continuado crecimiento de la llegada de turistas y visitantes, las llegadas de cruceristas, las visitas a equipamientos culturales, los asistentes a eventos deportivos o empresariales, entre otros factores. La presente tesis analiza el comportamiento de los turistas de Barcelona a través de dos de las variables más importantes de la demanda turística, el gasto del turista y la duración de su estancia. Se analiza el comportamiento aportando nuevos patrones y características del turista en el ámbito urbano.
