The World Health Organization in 2002, recognized that self-care was the cornerstone in the care of people with chronic diseases. The management of chronic disease requires time, and it is complex and difficult. Self-care involves the activities a patient must commit to undertake in order to live as good as possible. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) causes shortness of breath and it worsens over time. However, treatments and changes in habits can help the patient feel better and slow down the progression of the disease. The aim of the study is to analyze the resources and motivation factors the person has when it comes to dealing with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
