lt seeks to understand the mechanisms by which territories, cities, neighbourhoods and buildings respond to the redesign of its internal systems and their interactions. From this understanding, scheduled by the analysis of urban contexts, projects, plans and architectural works, we propose an alternative approach to renewal projects, as well as the identification of some paradigms. Outlined by location (different cities - Barcelona (ESP) and Sao Paulo (BRA) - in the European and American continents; and their different urban morphologies, where case studies are located) and assuming the criteria of technical and social transformation as inherent to the problematic of the redesign, this research looks to the strategies of redesign taken in this case studies.
First, deepen the study of the behaviour between urban contexts and their attempts of redesign. In a second moment, understand how projects of redesign works respect to its urban landscape, immediate environment and the internal processes of the intervened piece. Thus, strategies were divided between urbanistic and architectural, with the intention of highlighting the mechanisms through which the studied project articulates these dimensions. Finally, these behaviours and mechanisms are translated to the interior context of the theoretical object to be redesigned, and the mentioned alternative is configured by means of instrumentals, procedures and methodology.
