    Título: LA SUJECIÓN DE LOS RELIGIOSOS AL PODER DEL OBISPO DIOCESANO EN LAS OBRAS DE APOSTOLADO. PARTICULAR REFERENCIA A LA PROVINCIA DE LA INDIA MERIDIONAL DE LA CONGREGACIÓN DE LA MISIÓN.

Privilegios de los Padres Paúles Este trabajo se propone estudiar los ámbitos específicos de sujeción de los religiosos a la potestad del obispo diocesano tal como se prevé en el c. 678 § 1, con particular referencia a la provincia de la India Meridional de la Congregación de la Misión. El canon 678 § 1 combina elementos del CD, 35, 1 y 4. Está claro del texto de la CD que todos los institutos, exentos o no exentos, están completamente sujetos a la autoridad del ordinario del lugar en asuntos relacionados con las obras de apostolado. Hay tres áreas generales de sujeción de los religiosos al poder del obispo diocesano según el c. 678 § 1. Son a saber, la cura de almas, el ejercicio público del culto divino y otras obras de apostolado. La razón fundamental de la sumisión de los religiosos es que el obispo es pastor a quien el Espíritu Santo ha designado para dirigir la santa Iglesia de Dios, promoviendo la disciplina común de la Iglesia y exhortando a la observancia de las leyes eclesiásticas. Él es también el sucesor de los apóstoles. También representa a la Iglesia universal permaneciendo como miembro del colegio episcopal. Un análisis detallado y la comprensión de las áreas de sujeción de los religiosos previstas en el presente Código de Derecho Canónico y una comprensión profunda de la congregación y de la provincia con su autonomía y privilegios les permitirá apreciar su propia vida religiosa y también les permitirá llevar a los miembros de la congregación una vida misionera con votos, y con un compromiso más profundo.

    Title: THE SUBJECTION OF RELIGIOUS TO THE POWER OF THE DIOCESAN BISHOP IN THE WORKS OF APOSTOLATE. PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE PROVINCE OF SOUTH INDIA OF THE CONGREGATION OF THE MISSION.

Privileges of the Congregation of the Mission This paper intends to study the specific areas of subjection of religious to the power of the diocesan bishop as envisaged in c. 678 § 1, with particular reference to the province of South India of the Congregation of the Mission.

    Canon 678 § 1 combines elements of the CD, 35, 1 and 4. It is clear from the text of CD that all institutes whether exempt or non-exempt are completely subject to the authority of the local ordinary in matters concerning the works of apostolate. There are three general areas of subjection of religious to the power of diocesan bishop according to c. 678 § 1. They are namely care of souls, public exercise of divine worship and other works of apostolate. The basic reason for the submission of religious is that the bishop is pastor whom the Holy Spirit has appointed to direct the Holy Church of God by promoting common discipline of the Church and by urging the observance of the ecclesiastical laws. He is also the successor of the apostles. He also represents the universal Church remaining as the member of the episcopal college. A detailed analysis and understanding of the areas of subjection of religious as envisaged in the present Code of Canon Law and an in depth understanding of the congregation and the province with its autonomy and privileges will enable them to appreciate their own religious life and also enable the members of the congregation to lead a vowed missionary life with a deeper commitment.
