    El incesante flujo de personas de diferentes orígenes que llegan a muchos países europeos hace que la gestión de los cambios sociales sea difícil de analizar. No sólo son preocupantes las cifras, sino también los aspectos socioculturales que acompañan a cada inmigrante que, siendo un “activo”, representa al mismo tiempo un “desafío” para los gobernantes. La inmigración no es sólo un viaje de ida, porque genera inexorablemente relaciones e intercambios, en los que todos deben poder contribuir a definir su propia identidad. Desde el punto de vista del deporte, se plantea la cuestión de si puede servir de herramienta para la integración social de los inmigrantes, sin hacerles pasar por un “proceso forzado” de integración y a los nativos “la obligación” a integrarse en el tejido social. De hecho, el término "integración", referido a la integración de los inmigrantes en las sociedades receptoras, da lugar a muchas discusiones e interpretaciones, creando no pocas confusiones. Por lo tanto, es necesario distinguir, en primer lugar, entre la dimensión de la integración como proceso social, que se produce, por decirlo así, “desde abajo”, y la de la integración de los inmigrantes como objetivo consciente de un conjunto de políticas, que se persigue "desde arriba", porque está relacionada con los gobiernos y, por lo tanto, con las políticas de integración que se llevan a cabo. Es evidente que las políticas afectan a los procesos de integración, pero en ellos influyen diversos factores, las escuelas, el empleo, los sistemas educativos y el compromiso de las autoridades locales para luchar contra las formas de xenofobia. En general, el deporte puede considerarse un vehículo válido para la inclusión y la agregación, porque tiene un enorme potencial para educar y formar a cada individuo para que viva de forma honesta y justa. Además, representa un escenario de estudio singular, ya que atenúa las diferencias de edad, género, etnia y estatus para dar paso a aquellas habilidades que facilitan el diálogo con los demás. Con un lenguaje universal, promueve la convivencia civilizada y permite alcanzar capacidades no expresadas. Cada vez más, se utiliza como vector de integración, para las poblaciones extranjeras, en todos los países de inmigración. La actividad deportiva, sea cual sea, va más allá del campo de juego, ya que no es sólo sudar en el gimnasio, sino que es más, mucho más, tiene que ver con la esfera de la educación del individuo y su salud, tiene que ver con la transmisión de valores y con el sistema de derechos y deberes. Conceptos complejos como la integración, la inmigración o el deporte son cada vez más puestos a prueba por las ciencias sociales para comprender mejor la sociedad en la que vivimos, que frecuentemente es difícil de entender.     The unstoppable flow of people from different backgrounds, arriving in many European countries, makes the management of social change difficult to analyse. It is not only the numbers that are worrying, but also the socio-cultural aspects that accompany each migrant who, while being a 'resource', represents at the same time a 'challenge' for governments. Immigration is not a one-way trip, because it inexorably generates relationships and exchanges, in which everyone must be able to contribute to defining their own identity. Through the lens of sport, the question arises as to whether sport can serve as a tool for the social integration of immigrants, without subjecting them to a 'forced process' of integration and the natives to the 'compulsory' integration into the social fabric. The term 'integration', referring to the insertion of immigrants into receiving societies, in fact gives rise to much discussion and interpretation, creating quite a few confusions. It is therefore necessary to distinguish, firstly, between the dimension of integration as a social process, which takes place 'from below', so to speak, and that of immigrant integration as a conscious objective of a set of policies, pursued 'from above', because it is related to governments and thus to the integration policies pursued. Policies obviously affect integration processes, but these are influenced by various factors, school, work, education systems, and the commitment of local authorities to combat forms of xenophobia. In general, sport can be considered a valid vehicle for inclusion and aggregation, because it has enormous potential to educate and train each individual to live an honest and fair life. Moreover, it represents a unique learning scenario as it tempers differences of age, gender, ethnicity and status to make way for those skills, which facilitate dialogue with others. With a universal language, it fosters civil coexistence and enables the achievement of unexpressed capacities. More and more often, it is used as a vector of integration for foreign populations, in all countries of immigration. Sporting activity, whatever it may be, goes beyond the playing field, as it is not just sweat in the gym, but is more, much more, it has to do with the sphere of education of the individual and his health, it has to do with the transmission of values and with the system of rights and duties. Complex concepts such as integration, immigration and sport are increasingly being challenged by the social sciences to better understand the society we live in, which is often difficult to figure out.
