This doctoral thesis studies, from a comparative perspective, tensions and conflicts -disordered sexual behavior, verbal and physical violence, witchcraft, theft and robbery, etc.- that altered the local coexistence and pathways used to restore order and social peace. These were based on the development of mechanisms linked to infrajusticia and parajusticia or different uses of formal justice. This analysis covers twenty localities, with a registered population of 740 firesin 1595 and 575 in 1717, which formed the lordships of the chapter of the cathedral of Santa Maria d'Urgell in the Alt Urgell, in the last two decades of the sixteenth century and during the seventeenth century.
