Before 1910, the fish assemblage of Banyoles Lake (Catalonia, Spain) consisted of: eel (Anguilla anguilla), Mediterranean barbel (Barbus meridionalis), freshwater blenny (Bennius fluviatilis), three-spined stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus), chub (Leuciscus cephalus), and (perhaps introduced long time ago) tench (Tinca tinca).
