  • Resumen
    • Traditionally, research projects in music education are completed by individuals as solo ventures that often begin while completing the terminal degree. Evolving shifts in research paradigms, however have embraced research that is completed within collaborative enterprises. These enterprises often consist of partnerships between schools and universities, and differing universities within national and international settings. The purpose of this paper is to propose a model that reflects experiences of one international collaborative research partnership and to present the model as a possible guide for such partnerships that involve alternative research approaches. The aim is to clarify aspects of such experiences as constitutive of a collaborative research partnership. Throughout the process, it became evident that the lens that served as a theoretical guide also served to connect the parts into a meaningful whole, and that there was a need la reframe perceptions of what research is and can be.
