  • Buñuel’s work connects with popular films that reflect life in the city. Considering Buñuel’s films in relationship with the everyday life film genre is the key to understanding his most distinctive characteristic —the stereotypical young urbanite who embodies the changing values in the contemporary society of Mexico. The interconnections between these films allow us to see what cultural elements they have in common, and to abstract identify what makes Buñuel’s films original.
