  • Resumen
    • In this paper we begin with the presupposition that nowadays the STS approach in science class is consensual for most educators. Therefore, we present a study related to this topic, which is inserted into a much vaster project here has as its mais objectives: (a) provide the teachers in the sample a critical analysis to the contextualization of Science in the diverse metasciences; (b) contribute to the development of scientific education of the teachers so that they can introduce the STS approach into their classes. The study sample was made up of 11 trainers of Biology/Geology, connected to a university, who attended a training session organized according to the principles of the STS approach. The results showed that the trainers acquired a more realistic vision of Science, close to that of Ziman, contextualizing it in the diverse metasciences; acquired competencies to implement the STS approach in theis classes, making them more capable and efficient for their professional activity.
