  • The aim of this article is to study the principal semantic parameters that serve as the basis of a description and analysis of intransitive constructions. I begin by expounding an established conception of intransitivity and, starting from a theoretical framework based on the construct that links the syntactic, semantic and lexical dimensions, I isolate those that, in my opinion, are intransitive. Then I deal with the different semantic parameters to take into consideration when studying these structures. The greater or lesser importance of these parameters will vary according to the aims of the study. My intention is to cast some light on a question of capital importance in modern grammar and linguistics, namely, the delimitation, description and analysis of intransitive constructions.
