    Con motivo del V Centenario de la Casa de Contratación, el presente estudio hace una breve relación de los viajeros ingleses que, burlando las instituciones que regulaban el tráfico a las Indias, llegaron a la Nueva España ya fuera en calidad de ¿piratas¿ o de ¿comerciantes¿. Al analizar los textos de estos viajeros, compilados por Hayklut en The principal navigations Voiages and Discoveries of the English Nation , podemos obtener información interesante sobre las prácticas mediante las que se asumían las ordenanzas que regulaban el tránsito a Indias, así como sobre la eficacia de las instituciones que tenían que proteger la integridad del Cristianismo y vigilar la intromisión de ideas reformistas en el Nuevo Mundo.

    On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the ¿Casa de Contratación¿ (House of Trade or House of Contract), the present study makes a short analysis of the English voyagers who, mocking the institutions that regulated traffic to the Indies, arrived in New Spain as ¿pirates¿ or ¿merchants.¿ Upon analyzing the texts, compiled by Hayklut in The Principal Navigations, Voyages, Traffiques, and Discoveries of the English Nation , we can view interesting information regarding, one, the practices through which these voyagers assumed the ordinances that regulated transit to the Indies, and two, the efficiency of the institutions that had to protect the integrity of Christianity and keep watch over the meddling of reformist ideas in the New World
