  • Resumen
    • Capitalism inspires a fascination with increasing productivity and globalization that is contingent upon the parallel growth of this speed through communication technology. When one examines the broader implications of communication technology, however, it is clear that professionals are working longer hours and being afforded less personal time. In the process, they often experience an increase in productivity, and are confronted with the desire for even more of the same. This creates a cycle of increasing workload that often becomes overwhelming. Overworking is not without its shortcomings, and stress is directly bred from increasing responsibilities and deadlines. When stress becomes too much to bare, professionals are tasked with means of alleviating pressure. As a result, while communication technology has increased the speed and global realization of business, it also creates an environment of heightened stress and reduced ethical practice.
