Este artículo hace parte de la tesis: �La institucionalización de la enseñanza del arte en Colombia. Antecedentes y evolución (De la colonia al siglo XIX)�, presentada al Doctorado en Ciencias de la Educación de la Red de Universidades Rudecolombia.
Es un estudio de tipo histórico, cuyo propósito es comprender, desde la perspectiva socio-crítica, el proceso de dicha institucionalización;
se adelantó en el marco de la Nueva Historia Cultural (Burke:1996; Chartier:1996), y se fundó también en las teorizaciones sobre institucionalización y estructuración social (Giddens:1995; Celis y Guatame: s.d.; Berger y Luckmann:1972;
Elías:1982; Chevallier:1981), así como en los conceptos de aporía (Ricoeur: 2003; Aubenque: 2004) y campo (Bourdieu:1983), que orientaron metodológicamente el análisis. Los antecedentes del proceso analizado nos remiten a los talleres coloniales de artes y oficios, asunto que constituye el tema de este trabajo.

This article is part of the thesis: �The institutionalization of the teaching of art in Colombia: background and evolution (from colonial times to the 19th century)�, from a doctorate in Educational Sciences from the Rudecolombia University Network.
The purpose of this historical-type study of the institutionalization of the teaching of the Arts in Colombia from a socio-critical perspective, advanced in context of the New Cultural History (Burke,1996; Chartier,1996), and founded on institutional and social structure theories (Giddens,1995); Celis and Guatame:
s.d.; Berger and Luckmann,1972; Elías:1982; Chevallier:1981), as well as on the concepts of [aporía] (Ricoeur, 2003; Aubenque, 2004) and fieldwork (Bourdieu,1983), which oriented the analysis methodologically. The antecedents of the institutionalization of the arts remit us to colonial arts and crafts workshops, a matter that constitutes a major theme of the article.
