The mail survey has been the most frequently used research method in hospitality management and marketing research. The content and design of the cover page are very critical in mail surveys to obtain adequate response rate. This paper examines the effect of including student information in cover pages for a business sample. The findings indicated that providing student information had a positive effect on increasing response rates. However, this should only be a sub-strategy to the other content and design issues.
