Montage hinges on the relationship between its terms, described as tension, interaction, mutual influence, and even by sublation (in the postmodern sense), which ironically and paradoxically maintains both the inherent tension as well as the interaction between the terms. Though production and reception involve unconscious and affective factors both at an individual and collective level (social imaginary), the relationship between the main plot and the digitized sequence is fraught with multiplicity. This text focuses on the methodological issues resulting from the paradigms associated with montage, such as those of frame, intertextuality, and intermediality, including the cognitive processes implied in interpretation. It illustrates these issues through the alternation of digitized sequences, which are supposed to represent a mute young girl's psychic processes in Argentine filmmaker Albertina Carri's La rabia [Anger] (2008).
