  • This study focuses on the use of strategic, participatory communication to buildmulti-sector partnerships. A multidisciplinary literature informs the dimensions ofpartnership formation and development. A case study from Colombia describesthe role of strategic, participatory communication in facilitating multi-sectorpartnerships. Results indicate that partnerships require a clear expression ofcollective commitment; avoidance of dominance by partners; agreement onshared goals and key messages; and a transparent, inclusive and protracteddialogic process to achieve synergy
