Experiences of academic body (CA) "Comisión de Investigación" in Unidad Académica Multidisciplinria Zona Huasteca (UAMZH) of la Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, are narrated. Conditions of its formation, activities during its formative stage, incorporation of new members and the activities performed to pass the process of consolidation are described. This work shows how the CA members responded to public policy around the Programa para el mejoramiento del profesorado (Promep) in its individual aspect, regarding the qualification of teachers; and in their collective aspect, as it relates to academic bodies. The strengths and weaknesses of CA are presented. Restructuring and work strategies to become a consolidated CA are described.
