  • Resumen
    • This article addresses the problem of bringing the discipline of chemistry to life for contemporary students. It proposes that this can be done by bringing the founders and present practitioners of chemistry to life as examples of diverse, fallible humans engaged in the passionate pursuit of understanding the world around them. Adapting this personal science in modern chemistry texts, much like those texts of the 19 thcentury, allows students to identfy with the scientists being studied, thus making learning easier for the students.
