Resumen de ‘Y nació en Antioquía un niño con un solo ojo’ (Barhebreo, Cron. 25b 24-29)

En este trabajo nos ocupamos de una referencia en la Cronografía de Barhebreo sobre el nacimiento un niño con malformaciones físicas, su relación con las descripciones del Anticristo y la comparación con las versiones anteriores de esta leyenda recogidas por el patriarca Miguel el Sirio y el monje Teófanes Confesor, con el fin de mostrar las relaciones existentes en las tres redacciones y la posible fuente utilizada por los dos autores siriacos.

In the present article we analyze a textual reference on the birth of a child with physical malformations in Bar Hebraeusʼ Chronography, the relationship with the descriptions of the Antichrist, and its comparison with previous versions of this legend gathered by Patriarch Michael the Syrian and monk Theophanes Confessor. Our aim is to show the relationship between the three accounts and the possible source used by the two Syriac authors.
