  • The housings are the protagonist in historic urban centers. A policy of responsible conservation is supposed to be able to identify the representative examples with local, regional or national values. The aforementioned values derive from two categories:

    the type and the typological integrity. The determination of the type and the grade of typological integrity suppose knowledge of the process of historical configuration of the house so that the authenticity of the asset can be evaluated. In the present article will be studied the process of evolution of the courtyard house regarding to its Spanish antecedent and the architectonic and documentary procedures for the identification of cultural representative types in historic urban centers.
