  • Resumen
    • Some antecedents have been exposed about theoretical studies on colors, and also related to the historical evolution of chromatic practices in the occidental ancient world. Several results of scientific researches carried out by the author during 1998- 2013, and by others authors, concerning with colors of the Cuban cultural heritage, have been concisely described. It includes chromatic antecedents of studies and practices on the Cuban architectural heritage -with emphasis on architectural and urban context of Havana- and also, chromatic studies about some expressions of the intangible cultural heritage of the country. Results show that "live colors" were the visible image (actually lost) of the colonial buildings in the historical center, and also, of the contemporary expression of cultural practices and traditions. More detailed information have been used in several elective and post-graduate courses at University of Havana, between 2006 and 2013, such as: " Color: Theories and its Applications in Architecture", "Color in the Cuban Urban Heritage"; and "Color of Built and Intangible Cultural Heritage".
