    • Gender differentials in academic institutions are generating a high increase of studies on the female academic, the objectives are oriented to analyze and identify what are the reasons for these differences between teaching and research in higher education, especially in the representative bodies and university professors. Although there are political and institutional parameters that break the so-called "glass ceiling  ", the aim of this study has been to show clear evidence the situation of inequality and discrimination against women in the Spanish universities. The results collected, as well as numerous studies have analyzed to locate state of affairs, consistent with the evidence. The findings of this study show possible positions and attitudes that can contribute to break the academic representation of the Spanish university context. The investigations that probe the beliefs, thoughts and attitudes of female academic can be considered as a valuable resource for the social construction towards equality and essentially in promoting a genuine professional development of equity in the context of Higher Education
