La cirugía aborigen habia conservado su valiosa tradición en los comienzos del VIrreinato. El Sirkak y el Tullu-camayoc, eran hábiles en manejar el hueso, en tratar las fracturas y en abrir agujeros en el cráneo. A ellos les sucedió el Cirujano español del siglo XVI, que había aprendido en Salamanca, Córdova, Valencia o Alcalá de Henares.
Aboriginal surgery had preserved its rich tradition in the early viceroyalty. The Sirkak and Tullu-camayoc, were skilled in managing bone fractures and trying to open holes in the skull. They happened to them the Spanish sixteenth century surgeon, who had learned in Salamanca, Cordoba, Valencia and Alcalá de Henares.
