    En el presente artículo, se ofrece un resumen de las teorías de tres destacados psicólogos cubanos, que con sus estudios han aportado conocimientos importantes al aspecto motivacional de la personalidad. Estos enfoques teóricos constituyen la epistemología de base para nuevos estudios sobre la motivación en cualquier área del saber, aunque tienen un énfasis especial en el área educativa y pedagógica y para el desarrollo personal.

    The current article offers a summary of the theories of three outstanding Cuban psychologists, whic h have contributed with important knowledge to the motivational sphere of personality. These theoretical approaches constitute the epistemology of base to new studies about motivation in any area of knowledge, although they have a special emphasis on the educative and pedagogic area as well as on the personal development.
