    Este trabajo trata a una de las figuras más destacadas de la Pedagogía pinareña, el itinerario de su vida hasta llegar al magisterio, cómo llegó a nuestra provincia siendo español de nacimiento, su labor en el Instituto de Segunda Enseñanza de nuestra provincia, así como su labor bibliográfica en el campo de la Pedagogía y de la Psicología, contiene además la posición que a favor de nuestra independencia frente al colonialismo español mantuvo este hombre altruista que llegó a ser un gran pedagogo no sólo de nuestra provincia sino de Cuba y del mundo. Alcorta es el pionero de la Pedagogía cubana de inicios del siglo XX en la provincia de Pinar del Río.

    This work is one of the leading figures of Pinar del Rio Pedagogy, the itinerary of his life up to the teachers, how he came to our province being Spanish by birth, his work at the Institute of Secondary Education in our province and its bibliographic work in the field of Pedagogy and Psychology, also contains the position in favor of our independence from Spanish colonialism kept this selfless man who became a great teacher not only in our province but of Cuba and the world.
