  • An introduction to the issue on the role of colleges' foreign language departments in internationalizing the curriculum is presented including an article by Allan Goodman on the need within U.S. education for an immersive foreign language experience for its students, one by Ryuko Kubota on the responses received for internationalizing curricula, and another by Carol Klee on the Languages Across the Curriculum movement.
