This paper analyzes the instructional design for the quality development of this category or area, referred to in two quality assessment models, which have been proposed at international level for online courses. On the one hand, this paper takes into account the quality indicators from the model of Instituto Latinoamericano y del Caribe de Calidad en Educación Superior a Distancia (CALED), included in its assessment guide for virtual continuous training courses (Guía de evaluación para cursos virtuales de formación continua). On the other hand, the model suggested by the Quality Score Card (Tarjeta de puntuación, SCCQAP) of the Online Learning Consortium (OLC–CALED) is also taken into consideration in this paper, emphasizing the differences and similarities between both models.
